Museo delle Sinopie

In 1976, when hospital use ceased, the premises that were used as museums appeared as a rather insignificant space, the wooden cover was crumbling and the surviving trusses were shaded or alongside steel profiles.

The project was aimed at an appropriate cultural use of the restored environment which, in addition to preserving and expanding Sinopie, had to carry out an active community service, extended to all citizens.

The museum was set up in 1976 and the museum space was conceived as a function of the display of particularly peculiar objects such as the Sinopie of the frescoes of the monumental masterpiece.

Therefore, conservative restoration work was designed to create the new museum space where the use of steel employed with scientific rigor to exploit its resistance features and reinforced concrete found their consistency within that space following formal solutions designed
